Alonso and Arbeloa Make Premier League Debuts at Craven Cottage
Two familiar faces from the Bernabéu step into very different surroundings tonight. Craven Cottage, the river glinting beyond the stands and the old ground crackling with opening-week tension, hosts a Premier League debut for two Spanish head coaches with serious pedigree.
On one touchline, Alvaro Arbeloa, taking charge of Fulham in a competitive game for the first time. On the other, Xabi Alonso, beginning his Chelsea reign under the lights in west London. Alonso springs early selection shocks

While Alonso tweaks and gambles, Arbeloa goes the other way. Fulham are unchanged from their final warm-up game of the summer, a clear show of faith in the group that earned his trust in pre-season.
That means Premier League debuts for Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, both thrown straight into the starting XI on a night when every touch will be scrutinised.
