Arsenal to Offer £70m for Bruno Guimaraes Despite Newcastle's Resistance
Arsenal are set to challenge Newcastle United with a £70 million offer for their captain, Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazilian midfielder is keen on joining the Gunners, making this one of the most talked-about potential moves this summer.
Midfield Reinforcement Under Arteta
Manager Mikel Arteta is focused on bolstering his midfield, and Guimaraes tops the list. Despite Newcastle's firm stance that their skipper is not for sale, Arsenal's willingness to increase their bid from an earlier £60 million shows their determination to land the player. With Guimaraes clearly expressing his wish to move to the Emirates, talks between the clubs could speed up significantly.
Transfer Activity at Arsenal
So far, Arsenal have made a few signings this summer, including winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million and Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, who joined permanently for the same amount after a loan spell. Bradley Barcola is another option, but Liverpool currently lead the race for the Paris Saint-Germain winger.
