Their post was bold and unambiguous: Arsenal, they said, are preparing a “monstrous offer” via Roc Nation to put in front of Real Madrid, with the English champions ready to test the Spanish giants’ resolve. The message was clear – the next move, in their view, belongs to Vinicius.
They doubled down, anticipating denials from the player’s camp but insisting they “stand on” their information, adding that “the ball is in Vini Jnr’s court”.
Then came a twist.
Football Insider reporter Pete O’Rourke has poured cold water on the idea that Vinicius is pushing to leave. Speaking on the outlet’s podcast, he underlined the scale of the task facing Arsenal, stressing that Real Madrid have no desire to lose one of their crown jewels and that the winger himself “ideally would like to renew his contract at Real Madrid”.
That single line changes the temperature of the whole chase. Arsenal may be ready to explore any opening, but they are dealing with a player who, by all accounts, still sees his future in white.
O’Rourke framed it bluntly: this will be a difficult deal. Arsenal are testing the waters, watching closely for any sign that Real’s stance might soften or that contract talks hit a wall. From a football perspective, the fit is obvious. Vinicius is a proven, world-class match-winner, a player who instantly raises the ceiling of any squad he joins. For a side looking to go one step further in Europe and defend a domestic title, it is exactly the sort of statement signing that would rattle rivals.

There is another layer to this stand-off. TEAMtalk’s latest information suggests Real Madrid are in no mood to drift into dangerous contract territory. Their understanding is that the club are unwilling to let Vinicius move into the final stretch of his deal without clarity. If no breakthrough is reached, the hierarchy would rather sanction a sale this summer than risk losing one of their most valuable assets for nothing in 2027.
