Bentley Joins Coventry City: Aiming for Premier League Success

Bentley has thrown himself into Coventry City’s project with the enthusiasm of a player who knows exactly what he’s walking into – and what he wants to change.

The new Sky Blues goalkeeper spoke of a club on the rise, a dressing room he believes is ready to be pushed, and a fanbase riding the momentum of last season.

“Coventry City is a fantastic club and I'm really happy to get this deal over the line,” he told the club’s official website, underlining both relief and intent in one breath.

For Bentley, this isn’t just a move. It’s a chance to step into a building site that already has strong foundations.

“It feels like a place that is developing and, off the back of a fantastic season last year, there is a really good feel around the place,” he said. The mood, he stressed, is anything but flat. “It is really positive and there is an obvious excitement to go into the new season with the aim of being as successful as possible.”

“I will bring a lot of experience. I'm a senior player with good leadership qualities and I'm someone who has really high standards,” he explained. He wants those demands to bite in the dressing room and on the training pitch, not just in soundbites.

But this is not just about voice and presence. He knows he will ultimately be judged where it matters most.

“I want to make my mark on the pitch as well, of course,” he added. “There is a really good goalkeeping group here. When I get my opportunity, it is down to me to take it.”

His target is clear, and it stretches well beyond personal milestones.

“I want to help the club get results in the Premier League.”
