Burnley Signs Veteran Goalkeeper Ben Amos on One-Year Deal

Burnley have added a familiar name to their goalkeeping department, signing veteran stopper Ben Amos on a one-year contract.

At 36, Amos arrives with the kind of mileage that appeals to a squad looking for calm heads as much as sharp reflexes. Once a highly rated prospect in the Manchester United system, he now joins Burnley as a seasoned professional who has seen almost every corner of the English game.

Released by Port Vale at the end of last season, Amos was available on a free and represents a low-risk, high-experience option. His journey has taken him through Oldham Athletic, Hull City, Bolton Wanderers, Carlisle, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic, a tour of duty that underlines both his staying power and his adaptability.

"I think there's a good blend of younger and older players here and hopefully I can bring something to the dressing room with my experience and be part of the senior group," Amos told the club website.
