Celtic's League Cup Campaign Begins Under Martin O’Neill

Martin O’Neill is back on the touchline tonight as Celtic open their League Cup campaign away to Dundee United – and he has wasted no time freshening up a winning team.

After last weekend’s emphatic 5-1 SPFL victory at Kilmarnock, O’Neill has made four changes for the Tannadice tie, shaking the side without disturbing its core.

Liam Scales returns to the back line, while Sebastian Tounekti and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are handed starts further forward. Colby Donovan also comes in, offering another option in the defensive unit. Dropping out from the XI that started at Rugby Park are Arne Engels, Alistair Johnston, Kieran Tierney and Yang.

There is intrigue on the bench as well. New Bhoys Haissem and Hassan are both included among the substitutes, joined by Mika Baur, who completed his move to the champions earlier in the week and now finds himself immediately involved on cup duty.
