Pep Chavarría is set to join from Rayo Vallecano in a deal worth around £16.3m (€19m) plus add-ons, with both clubs finalising the last details after more than a month of negotiations. Inside Stamford Bridge, he has been earmarked as the direct replacement for Marc Cucurella, whose move to Real Madrid left a hole on the left side of Chelsea’s defence.
