“I don’t think Cole Palmer will go right now. I don’t think it’s time to go right now,” the ex-Chelsea and France defender told iPredicta. “He will definitely go to Manchester United in the future if he’s a big fan, if he’s got a dream to play for Man United, he will definitely go there, but right now I don’t think so.”
Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 for £42.5 million, swapping the Etihad for Stamford Bridge after 13 years in City’s system. Yet beneath the sky-blue upbringing sits a red thread: Palmer grew up a United supporter.

New United signing Andrey Santos has revealed that Palmer reached out as soon as the Brazilian’s move to Old Trafford was sealed. Santos, who left Chelsea in search of regular game time, has signed a five-year deal, with United paying an initial £48 million plus £2 million in add-ons.
Santos spoke of his excitement at the move and lifted the lid on Palmer’s reaction.
“I’m so excited to be here. So pleased,” Santos said. “I got a message from Cole [Palmer], he sent a message because he was born here [Manchester], so he knows everything here.
“He said all the best for you, for your career, you deserve this, a lot of things. So I'm so excited to be here in Manchester with my new teammates.”
It was a small gesture, but a telling one. Palmer might be Chelsea’s star now, yet his roots are still in Manchester, and his eye is clearly still on what happens there.
