Dastan Satpayev's Loan Move to Burnley for English Football Debut

Chelsea’s teenage winger Dastan Satpayev is set to take his first step into English senior football with a loan move to Burnley.

The Kazakhstan international, who only turned 18 on Wednesday, has already agreed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge with an option for a further season, tying him to Chelsea long term after a £3.4m switch from Kairat FC was pre-arranged for January 2025.

Chelsea have wasted no time mapping out his development. Satpayev has travelled to Turf Moor and is expected to undergo his medical ahead of Burnley’s home clash with West Ham on Sunday, with the Championship side poised to give him his first taste of the English game.

Loan Moves

The move comes in the middle of a busy week for Chelsea’s loan department. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has joined Portsmouth, Reggie Walsh has headed to Wigan Athletic and Shim Mheuka is also close to securing a temporary move away.

For Satpayev, the pathway is clear: Chelsea contract signed, loan lined up, Championship minutes on offer. Now he has to show why the club were willing to commit six years to an 18-year-old from Kazakhstan.
