Vlahovic is prepared to earn far less.

The proposed short-term renewal would mirror the structure of Kenan Yildiz’s contract, with the Serbian forward dropping to around €7 million per year. That is a huge step down from the €12m he is collecting this season, a cut that would normally signal a deal edging toward the finish line.

It hasn’t.

Salary is no longer the main battlefield. The real clash lies in the shadows of the contract: agent commissions and signing bonuses.

If he hits form at the right time and walks toward the summer without a deal, the scenario is obvious. A luxury free agent, in his mid-twenties, battle-tested in Serie A and in Europe, would not stay on the market for long. AC Milan, Bayern Munich and other heavyweights could circle quickly, attracted by the absence of a transfer fee and willing to pour more into wages and commissions instead.

Champions League now, uncertainty later

For the moment, there is a fragile truce. Both Juventus and Vlahovic’s entourage have agreed to park the contract saga and focus on the run-in. Champions League qualification is the shared objective, the minimum target for a club of Juve’s stature and a key factor in any financial planning.

But the cloud is there, hanging over every appearance, every goal, every missed chance. Each match is no longer just about points; it is about valuation.
