Ferran Torres was again missing from FC Barcelona training on Thursday morning, and this time the absence spoke louder than any official statement.
For the second day running, the 26-year-old forward did not join Hansi Flick’s session at the Ciutat Esportiva. The club has kept in place the permission granted to the player, who was originally expected back on Wednesday but is now focused on closing his transfer to PSG with Barcelona’s blessing.
Deal with PSG in the home straight
Talks between Barcelona and the French and European champions have accelerated. Multiple well-placed sources confirm that an agreement for Torres is almost done, with final conversations between the clubs aimed at tying up a total package of around €55 million, including add-ons.

Marc Casado, Hector Fort, Jofre Torrents, Tommy Marques, Guille Fernandez and Toni Fernandez are all training separately while they wait for clarity on their futures. The group of reserve-team players still training with Flick includes Aron Yaakobishvili — himself close to a move to Almeria — along with Alvaro Cortes, Xavi Espart, Jordi Pesquer, Ebrima Tunkara, Orian Goren, Brian Farinas and forward Hamza Abdelkarim.
They remain embedded in first-team sessions as Barcelona navigate the final stretch of their pre-season squad planning, aware that every drill and every small-sided game could shift their place in Flick’s thinking.
