Galatasaray's Bold Move for Bruno Fernandes with Osimhen-Level Wages
Galatasaray are preparing one of the boldest moves of the window: a push to prise Bruno Fernandes away from Manchester United with a salary package on a par with Victor Osimhen’s.
Turkish journalist Emre Kaplan, speaking from inside the Istanbul club, revealed that the Super Lig champions are willing to put their money where their ambition is. Fernandes, still without a renewed deal at Old Trafford, has been marked down as a priority target.
Galatasaray see the Portugal international as a potential centrepiece for their next cycle. Not just another marquee name, but the heartbeat of a team that wants to make noise in Europe, not just at home.
To make that happen, they are prepared to go to the top of their own wage structure.
Osimhen is currently Galatasaray’s highest earner, and his salary is being used as the benchmark. Matching that level for Fernandes would place the United captain straight into the club’s elite bracket from day one.
“Galatasaray are prepared to offer Bruno Fernandes the same salary as Osimhen, who is presently the top earner in the squad,” he said, as reported by Habersarikirmizi. “They will also present whatever amount is necessary for the transfer fee. However, I believe that the reports circulating in the English media are being utilised in negotiations with United.”
So the intent is clear. The numbers, Kaplan suggests, will not be the problem from Galatasaray’s side, either in wages or fee.
The timing is no coincidence. With Fernandes yet to finalise new terms at Manchester United, Galatasaray sense an opening and are pushing hard while uncertainty lingers around his contract situation.
This pursuit fits a wider pattern. The Turkish champions have been steadily trying to elevate the squad, adding star quality and experience to dominate domestically and stretch their limits in Europe. Landing the United captain would be the most emphatic statement yet.
Whether United are truly ready to listen, or simply using the noise as leverage in contract talks, is another question entirely. But Galatasaray have made their stance unmistakable: if Bruno Fernandes becomes available, they are ready to sit at the top table and pay like it.
