Galatasaray Rejects Al-Hilal's €130m Bid for Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray have turned down a staggering €130m offer from Al-Hilal for Victor Osimhen, making it clear they will not entertain any talks over a sale this summer.

The Saudi Pro League side lodged the huge verbal bid on Wednesday through intermediaries, pushing hard to finally land a striker they have tracked for years. The answer from Istanbul was blunt: no deal.

According to Sky Sports, Galatasaray informed Al-Hilal that Osimhen is simply not for sale in this window and that there is no appetite at the club to even open negotiations.

It is a firm stance, but it reflects the scale of Osimhen’s impact. Since arriving from Napoli on an initial loan in 2024, the Nigerian forward has been devastating in front of goal, scoring 59 times in just 74 appearances for the Turkish Süper Lig champions. The loan was converted into a permanent transfer last summer for a Turkish-record fee of €75m, underlining how heavily Galatasaray invested in him as the centrepiece of their project.

Al-Hilal’s pursuit hits a wall

Al-Hilal’s interest in Osimhen is not new. They were close to signing him before his switch to Istanbul and have kept him high on their wishlist as they build a squad aimed at dominating the Saudi Pro League.

The plan was clear: bring in Osimhen as the marquee forward to spearhead a title push in the 2026/27 season after narrowly missing out last term. Al-Hilal finished second, just two points behind champions Al-Nassr, and the club’s hierarchy have been searching for the extra edge in attack.

The pressure on their recruitment team is rising. The club are expected to sanction the departure of Darwin Nunez in the coming days, leaving a significant gap at centre-forward. Osimhen had been earmarked as the statement signing to fill it.

Instead, they have run into Galatasaray’s brick wall.

Big spending, big ambitions

Al-Hilal are not exactly standing still. They have already wrapped up a £60m deal for Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United, adding more pace and flair to an attacking unit that already includes Karim Benzema and Malcolm.

Osimhen, though, was the game-changer they wanted – the explosive, in-his-prime striker to lead the line for years. A €130m bid underlines just how serious they were.

Galatasaray’s refusal underlines something else: in this saga, money is not everything. They have their star, he is delivering at an elite rate, and with a title defence and European ambitions ahead, they are not ready to rip out the heart of their attack.

Al-Hilal will move on to other targets. The question now is whether anyone can prise Osimhen out of Istanbul while Galatasaray remain this resolute.
