Hull City Plans Major Summer Transfer Activity

Hull City’s summer is about to get busy. Very busy.

Club correspondent Barry Cooper reports that the Tigers are weighing up as many as six further signings before the window shuts, with the recruitment drive stretching right through the spine of Sergej Jakirovic’s squad.

The plan is bold: another goalkeeper, a midfielder, a winger and at least two more forwards are being lined up as Hull gear up for their Premier League return. One of the names firmly on the radar is Reims wide man Keito Nakamura, who features prominently on the club’s shortlist.

Wahi turns Hull down

Not every call is going Hull’s way.

Eintracht Frankfurt forward Elye Wahi has rejected the chance to join City this summer, according to reports from Kieran King. The 23-year-old moved to Frankfurt from Marseille for £25m in January 2025 but has struggled to make an impact in the Bundesliga, scoring just once in 25 outings for The Eagles.

His loan spell at Nice last season told a very different story. Wahi hit nine goals in 19 Ligue 1 appearances and played a key role in keeping the club in the French top flight. French outlet L’Equipe reports that he is now prioritising a return to Nice despite interest from Hull and Serie A side Lazio.

Hull will have to look elsewhere for firepower.

Toure interest grows

One option could be Norwich City’s Mohamed Toure.

Hull have reportedly joined the race for the Australia international as they look to reinforce their forward line. Journalist Rudi Galetti claims the Tigers and Porto are both keen on the Norwich attacker, who has emerged as a live target this summer.

No fee has been disclosed, but Toure fits the brief: young, mobile, and capable of adding depth in the final third.

French market in focus: Nakamura and Hernandez

Hull’s scouting network has been busy in France and Spain.

Foot Mercato reports that the Tigers have added both Keito Nakamura and Yeremay Hernandez to their shortlist. The pair are said to be worth a combined £31m, underlining the level at which Hull are now shopping.

Nakamura, currently at Reims, is understood to have already been the subject of contact from Hull with the player’s representatives. Hernandez, meanwhile, is catching the eye at Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga, and offers another creative option out wide.

If even one of those deals lands, Jakirovic’s attacking options will look very different by September.

Fortini deal edging closer

At the back, Hull are pushing hard for Fiorentina defender Niccolo Fortini.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that City have a “serious” interest in the Italian, with talks ongoing over a loan move that would include an option to buy. Other reports in Italy suggest an agreement is “close”, with Bournemouth also previously linked.

Fortini would arrive as a key part of the defensive rebuild, offering flexibility down the flank and competition in wide areas.

Njinmah and Pedersen also on the radar

The Tigers’ trawl across Europe doesn’t stop there.

Werder Bremen winger Justin Njinmah has emerged as another target, according to Sport Bild. Hull face stiff competition, with Fiorentina, Southampton and Marseille all credited with an interest in the 25-year-old. No price tag has been made public yet, but the level of interest hints at a significant fee.

Then there is Marcus Holmgren Pedersen. As first reported by Barry Cooper, the Torino right-back and Norway international has been identified as a key signing. Hull have already seen a €5m (£4.3m) bid rejected by the Serie A club, yet their pursuit has not cooled.

Pedersen shone for his country at the World Cup earlier this summer and is viewed as an important piece of Hull’s Premier League puzzle.

Six signings is an ambitious target. The list is long, the competition fierce, and the clock ticking. But if Hull land even a portion of these names, the squad walking out at the MKM Stadium on opening day will look nothing like the one that got them here.
