Inter Milan Sign Curtis Jones for $40 Million
Inter Milan have struck a deal worth $40 million to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, prising the academy product away from Anfield with a year left on his contract.
The agreement, reported by The Athletic, ESPN and Sky Sports, brings to an end Jones’ long spell with his boyhood club, where he broke into the senior side in 2019 and gradually carved out a regular role in midfield.
At 25, Jones arrives in Italy off the back of a busy 2025-26 campaign. He made 49 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists as the Reds chased honors on multiple fronts. Across his entire senior career at Anfield, he has produced 22 goals and 22 assists in 228 appearances, a steady return that underlines his evolution from promising youngster to established first-teamer.
The signs of a move had been building. Jones was left out of Liverpool’s last two preseason friendlies, both played on recent Sundays against Como and Monaco, as talks over his future gathered pace behind the scenes.
Liverpool now prepare to begin life without him when they open their Premier League campaign away to Newcastle at 11:30 a.m. EDT on Sunday in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
Inter, meanwhile, are wasting no time reshaping their midfield. They will unveil the new Serie A season at home, hosting Monza at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in Milan, with Jones set to become the latest Premier League export tasked with adapting quickly to the demands of Italian football.
