Ismael Saibari Joins Bayern: Vision and Playing Style

At his official unveiling, Ismael Saibari left no doubt about why he chose Bayern and what he expects from the move.

“Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said, leaning into the club’s vision as much as its badge. “They've given me the confidence that I can develop as a player and person here.”

For Saibari, it’s not just the name or the stadium lights. It’s the way Bayern play. High tempo. Relentless movement. Constant pressure on the opposition box.

“They play with a lot of movement and high intensity. I saw that myself last season,” he explained. “They play very good football, it's always intense, they always look for finishes. I like that a lot.”

That style should mesh neatly with Vincent Kompany’s ideas, even if the finer tactical details are still to come. Saibari admitted he and the coach have yet to sit down for a deep dive on his exact role.

“I haven't discussed it [position] in detail with the coach. I've been focusing on my injury and comeback. We'll definitely talk about it soon.”

What he doesn’t hide is where he feels most dangerous.

“My favourite position is the number ten, everyone knows that,” he said. That central pocket, between the lines, is where he sees the game best.

But he’s not arriving in Munich with a fixed address on the pitch. Far from it.

“I can play in several positions, we always switch around during games anyway. I can also play out wide and a bit deeper.”

Bayern get a player who wants the ball, wants responsibility and is ready to adapt. Kompany now has another flexible piece to move around his attacking board.
