Julian Alvarez appears to be closing the door on Barcelona and settling back into life at Atletico Madrid.

During World Cup 2026, Alvarez went public with his desire to leave Atletico, a stance that seemed to open the door for Barcelona and encouraged the Catalan club to move. Barca duly made an offer, sensing an opportunity to prise him away from Diego Simeone’s side.
