Liverpool Targets PSG Stars Barcola and Mbaye

The clock is ticking on the transfer window, and Liverpool look ready to finally hit the accelerator.

Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo are already through the door, but nobody at Anfield is pretending the rebuild is close to finished. The forward line, in particular, still feels incomplete.

At the top of the list remains PSG forward Bradley Barcola. Talks are ongoing over a deal that would likely soar beyond £100 million, a fee that would redefine Liverpool’s recent transfer spending and send a jolt through the Premier League.

But Barcola may not be the only Paris-based name on their radar.

Mbaye Move Gathering Pace

According to L’Equipe, Liverpool are preparing a concrete proposal for Ibrahim Mbaye and plan to present it to PSG by the end of next week.

The early whispers of a €40 million fee now look optimistic. The French champions are expected to demand more, yet Mbaye still profiles as a significantly cheaper option than Barcola and a way for Liverpool to spread their investment across multiple attacking roles.

Andoni Iraola’s squad has a glaring vacancy. Mohamed Salah’s departure has left a void on the right side of the attack, both in goals and in aura, and Mbaye is viewed as a player who could slot into that space in the system, even if he cannot replicate the Egyptian’s output overnight.

The situation is tightening elsewhere in the front line too. Cody Gakpo is increasingly tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur, a potential move that would strip Liverpool of another versatile attacking option and crank up the urgency behind the scenes at Anfield.

So the need is no longer theoretical. It is immediate, obvious, and staring straight back at the club’s hierarchy.

If Liverpool follow through on their plans and pull off a double raid for Barcola and Mbaye, they will not only be buying goals and creativity. They will be making a statement to the rest of Europe: the post-Salah era will not be timid.
