Newcastle United Agrees Fee with Al-Ahli for Matthias Jaissle Transfer
Reports reveal the amount Newcastle United will pay Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia to acquire German coach Matthias Jaissle. The coach resigned from his position at Al-Ahli on Thursday, paving the way for him to take over Newcastle's managerial role next season, replacing Eddie Howe.
Transfer Details and Contract Terms
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano shared on X that Newcastle has agreed to pay around 11 million euros in compensation. Jaissle is expected to arrive on Saturday to be officially presented as Newcastle’s sporting director, signing a contract lasting four years until 2030.
Jaissle nearly committed to a four-year deal with Al-Ahli but requested a clause guaranteeing full payment if dismissed. The Saudi club declined this condition, which led to his departure.
Jaissle's Success at Al-Ahli
Since taking charge of Al-Ahli in 2023 after South African coach Pitso Mosimane, Jaissle spent three seasons leading the team. During his tenure, he secured two AFC Champions League Elite titles and a Saudi Super Cup — the club’s first trophy in nine years.
