Oliver Antman's Rangers Spell Ends as He Joins Anderlecht

Oliver Antman’s Rangers spell is almost over before it ever really began.

The Finnish winger is on the brink of joining RSC Anderlecht, with Derek McInnes confirming on Wednesday that the 24-year-old has already travelled to Belgium to complete the move.

“An agreement has been reached, and Oliver has travelled to finalise everything. I am quite sure that everything will go well for him,” McInnes told the Scottish media, drawing a firm line under a short, stuttering chapter in Glasgow.

From Eredivisie star to Glasgow struggle

Antman arrived at Rangers with genuine momentum behind him. His 2024–25 season with Go Ahead Eagles turned heads across Europe: six league goals, a division-best 16 assists, and a key role in a KNVB Cup-winning campaign that put the Deventer club in the spotlight.

That form earned him a £3.5 million move to Ibrox and the kind of expectation that follows a creative player in his prime. He was supposed to bring incision, final ball, and a bit of chaos in the final third.

It never truly clicked.

Across 28 appearances in all competitions, Antman managed just one goal and five assists. Flashes of his Eredivisie swagger appeared in moments, but never often enough, and never long enough, to cement a starting place or a real bond with the Rangers support.
