Premier League Players Injured During the International Break

The international break, unusually long this time, is finally drawing to a close as fans await the return of Premier League fixtures. Clubs are eager to see their key players back on the field after some have picked up injuries while playing for their countries.

Players Injured During International Duty

  • Kai Havertz, Christos Tzolis, and Ezri Konsa (Arsenal): Havertz injured himself during Germany's Nations League match against the Netherlands and will be out for several weeks with no exact return date announced. Tzolis left the Greece vs. Netherlands game early due to injury and might miss about three weeks. Konsa played in England's 7-0 win over Croatia but had to pull out from the squad before the Czechia game because of an injury.
  • Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa): Suzuki missed Japan's match against Uruguay with a rib injury but recovered in time for their next fixture.
  • Mikkel Damsgaard and Alex Scott (Bournemouth): Damsgaard did not play in Denmark's Nations League win over Wales after suffering an ankle injury against Portugal. Scott was sidelined from England's game against Czechia after getting injured prior to the big win over Croatia.
  • Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo (Liverpool): Isak returned to Liverpool for evaluation following a minor injury. Gakpo left the Netherlands' game against Serbia early due to an injury, causing concern for the Reds.
  • Erling Haaland and Nico O'Reilly (Manchester City): O'Reilly withdrew from England's squad after a training injury. Haaland limped off during Norway’s match against Portugal, but his coach said it was fatigue rather than a serious problem.
  • Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui (Manchester United): Dorgu left Denmark’s game versus Wales with an injury and is back with United awaiting assessment. Mazraoui also returned early after leaving Morocco’s Africa Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
  • Dan Ballard and Brian Brobbey (Sunderland): Ballard suffered a hamstring issue in Northern Ireland's win over Georgia, and Brobbey exited the Netherlands vs. Germany match in the 35th minute due to injury.
  • Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven (Tottenham Hotspur): Van Hecke had to withdraw from his national team after sustaining an injury during training. Van de Ven was substituted in the Netherlands’ win against Serbia, but Spurs’ coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed his injury isn't serious.
