PSG Targets Ajax Winger Mika Godts Amid Barcola Exit
Paris Saint-Germain have started talks with Ajax over highly rated winger Mika Godts, with the French champions accelerating their rebuild in attack.
According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, PSG have opened negotiations with the Dutch club as they close in on another forward, Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, after seeing off competition from Liverpool for the Frenchman’s signature. The message from Paris is clear: the attack is being reshaped, and quickly.
Godts deal complicated by Ajax stance
Godts has emerged as PSG’s next major target, but this is no simple raid on the Eredivisie. Ajax are determined to keep the Belgian, who has developed into one of their standout young players and a central part of their plans.
The 21-year-old is understood to have already given the green light to a move, following what have been described as “direct positive talks” with PSG’s transfer chief Luis Ocampos. The player’s side is ready. The obstacle lies in Amsterdam, where Ajax are digging in.

Barcola exit forces PSG’s hand

Barcola has informed PSG that he will not extend his current contract, which runs until 2028, opening the door to a departure this summer. Liverpool are currently leading the chase for the France international and are expected to lodge an opening bid in the coming days.
His likely exit strips Luis Enrique of a key attacking option on the left, forcing PSG back into the market for a winger who can step straight into that role. The search has led them to Amsterdam and to a player whose profile fits almost perfectly.
Godts operates primarily off the left flank, drifting inside onto his right foot, but he can also slot in as an attacking midfielder. That versatility, and his ability to influence games between the lines, make him an attractive solution to the looming Barcola void.
A rising star with Hazard comparisons
Godts’ reputation has surged over the past year. He is known for his blistering acceleration, tight close control and sharp creativity in the final third, coupled with a calmness in front of goal that has drawn comparisons with former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
The numbers back up the hype. Last season, Godts scored 17 goals and supplied 15 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions, a standout return for a 21-year-old wide player. His performances earned him the 2025/26 Eredivisie Talent of the Year award, edging out other notable nominees such as AZ’s Kees Smit, himself on the radar of several major clubs.
