Roma Eyes RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa Amid Interest from Premier League and Serie A Clubs

Roma is seriously considering a transfer for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport. The 21-year-old Norwegian attacker has caught the eye of the Serie A club, especially after their recent departures of Mason Greenwood to Fenerbahce and Crysencio Summerville to Al-Hilal.

The Italian team has already approached Leipzig’s senior management about the possibility of securing Nusa’s services. However, Leipzig is holding firm with a hefty asking price between €50 million and €60 million. Nusa’s contract runs until 2029, which strengthens Leipzig’s position in negotiations.

Roma Explores Alternatives Due to High Transfer Fee

With Leipzig's valuation putting pressure on their budget, Roma has started to look at other candidates. Among their options are Andreas Schjelderup from Benfica and Said El Mala, the 19-year-old from 1. FC Cologne, who is also attracting strong interest from Borussia Dortmund.

Wider Interest in Nusa Across Europe

Nusa’s talent has not gone unnoticed beyond Italy. Reports from June revealed that English clubs like Newcastle United and Arsenal are keen on the winger. A report by the Newcastle Chronicle lists several admirers, including Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace.

Bayern Munich was also linked with Nusa, particularly since they sought reinforcement on the left wing. That move seems unlikely now, as Bayern has signed Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, their preferred target.

A Quick Rise Since Joining Leipzig

Antonio Nusa arrived at Leipzig in the summer of 2024 from Club Brugge for €21 million. The versatile wide forward can operate effectively on both wings and quickly became a regular starter. Last season, he appeared in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and assisting four times.
