Tottenham Opens Talks for Loan Deal of Franco Mastantuono
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season after signing six new players under Roberto De Zerbi. The club has reportedly initiated discussions for a loan move involving Franco Mastantuono, a promising young talent from Real Madrid.
The Argentine winger, who joined Real Madrid in June 2025 for £38.5 million, may seek more playing time away from Santiago Bernabeu on a temporary basis. At just 18, Mastantuono is regarded as one of world football’s brightest prospects by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Last season, he made 23 appearances in La Liga, starting 11 times and scoring three goals.
According to Argentine source Cronica, while Fulham leads the race for Mastantuono's services, Tottenham have also made contact to explore the possibility of a loan without an option to buy. Other clubs such as Juventus, Inter Milan, Porto, Benfica, Sporting CP, Villarreal, Rennes, Lyon, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig are reportedly interested as well.
Need for Offensive Reinforcements
After bolstering their defense and midfield, Tottenham looks set to boost their attack. De Zerbi could benefit from an additional right-wing option, especially with Wilson Odobert sidelined by an ACL injury and uncertainty surrounding Dejan Kulusevski’s return after over a year out.
Mohammed Kudus aims to make a strong impact following limited appearances this year due to injury. Mathys Tel can fill the right-wing spot if not deployed on the left. Players like Manor Solomon and Yang Min-hyeok are also available, but may be moved on given their lower status in the squad.
If signed, Mastantuono would provide valuable depth on the right wing and could compete for an attacking midfield role as well, adding versatility to Tottenham’s frontline.
