Watford Sign Spain Starlet Iker Bravo on Three-Year Deal

Watford have moved to sharpen their attack with the signing of Spain Under-21 forward Iker Bravo from Udinese on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

It is a quietly ambitious piece of business. Bravo is only 21, but his reputation has been building for some time. He was named player of the tournament as Spain lifted the 2024 Uefa Under-19 Championship, a standout in a side already stacked with talent.

This is not a raw prospect plucked from obscurity. Bravo grew up in the demanding corridors of La Masia, Barcelona’s famed academy, before leaving for Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 to accelerate his route into senior football. From there he took in a spell on loan with Real Madrid B, a stage that tests temperament as much as technique, before joining Udinese in 2024.

In Italy he featured 37 times and scored three goals, a modest return on paper but a useful education in the tactical grind of Serie A. Watford clearly believe the ceiling is far higher than those numbers suggest.

"Iker is a promising young talent," said Watford group technical director Gian Luca Nani. "His development at Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and with the Spanish national teams speaks for itself. We are confident he will be a valuable addition to the squad and bring new attacking options to the team."
