Alcaraz to Represent Spain and Zverev Leads Germany in Davis Cup Final 8
In Bologna, Italy, Carlos Alcaraz is set to play for Spain in the upcoming Davis Cup Final 8 next month, marking his first appearance in the event since 2024. Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev, who will claim the world No. 1 ranking before the tournament begins on November 24, has been named to lead Germany's team.
Italy, aiming for a fourth consecutive title but missing injured Jannik Sinner, will rely on French Open runner-up Flavio Cobolli. Alcaraz, after making history as the youngest man to achieve a career Grand Slam earlier this year by winning the Australian Open, still seeks the Davis Cup to complete his trophy collection.
Spain’s lineup also includes two other top-15 players: No. 11 Rafael Jodar and No. 15 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, all chosen by captain David Ferrer. Spain faces Austria in the quarterfinals, while Zverev’s Germany will take on Britain, led by Wimbledon semifinalist Arthur Fery.
