Brad Young's Hat-Trick Powers TNS to Top Spot
Brad Young walked off with the match ball and The New Saints walked away with another statement win, dismantling struggling Ammanford to reinforce their authority at the top of the Cymru Premier.
Young’s hat-trick led a relentless display from the champions, who tore into a side fighting at the wrong end of the table. Rhys Hughes weighed in with a brace, while Dynel Simeu, Isaac Jeffries, Jack Bodenham and Jordan Williams all joined the scoring spree in a one-sided rout that underlined the gulf between first and 14th.
TNS remain unbeaten and now sit nine points clear, already casting a long shadow over the title race. Ammanford, by contrast, slip to 14th, their goal difference and confidence both badly bruised after a chastening afternoon.
Caernarfon cruise as Briton Ferry’s late rally falls short
Caernarfon Town did their work early and did it well. Sion Bradley and Harry Charsley struck in the first half to put the hosts firmly in control, a 2-0 lead at the break reflecting their sharpness in the final third.
Charsley added his second after the interval to kill off any lingering doubt, even though Luke Bowen’s late effort gave Briton Ferry a consolation and a touch of respectability to the scoreline. The home side never really looked like surrendering their advantage.
The result leaves Caernarfon steady in fourth, very much in the mix behind the runaway leaders. Briton Ferry stay 11th, competitive in spells but still searching for the kind of consistency that turns performances into progress up the table.
Airbus show character to climb above Cardiff Met
In south Wales, Airbus had to fight for everything – and they did. A bruising contest saw them come from behind to leapfrog Cardiff Met and move into seventh.
Cambrian & Clydach set the tone early. Goals from Jarrad Wright and Joshua Beecher opened up a 2-0 lead and hinted at a comfortable home win. Airbus refused to fold. As half-time approached, George Peers pulled one back, a crucial strike that changed the feel of the game.
The momentum carried into the second half. Kaiden Cooke levelled soon after the restart, and suddenly Cambrian were hanging on. The pressure finally told when Peers struck again, completing the turnaround and sealing a hard-earned victory.
Cambrian remain ninth, left to reflect on a lead lost and a chance missed, while Airbus emerge with belief and a bump up the table to show for their resilience.
Snaith’s double twist as Colwyn Bay’s perfect home run ends
At Colwyn Bay, the storyline belonged to one man on both sides of the ledger. Cardiff Met’s Sam Snaith scored at each end as Colwyn Bay’s 100% home record came to an abrupt halt.
Snaith first did what he is paid to do, putting the Students ahead before the interval and silencing the home crowd. After the break, the game flipped. His own goal dragged Colwyn Bay level and injected fresh energy into the hosts.
The turnaround looked complete when Sam Hart scored directly from a corner, a vicious delivery that flew in and handed Colwyn Bay the lead for the first time. Their perfect home run seemed set to continue.
Cardiff Met refused to accept the script. In the 73rd minute, Jasper Payne struck to level the match, a composed finish that earned the visitors a point and snapped Colwyn Bay’s flawless home sequence.
The draw nudges Cardiff Met down to eighth, a small slide in a tightly packed mid-table. Colwyn Bay stay fifth, still well placed, but now reminded that even at home, nothing in this league comes guaranteed.
