Brenden Aaronson Signs New Three-Year Deal with Leeds United

Brenden Aaronson has nailed his colours to the Leeds United mast, signing a new three-year contract as he moved into the final year of his previous deal.

The 25-year-old becomes the third key figure to commit to Elland Road this week, following fresh agreements for Joe Rodon and Jayden Bogle. It caps a decisive spell for Leeds, who are intent on locking down the spine of Daniel Farke’s side after a season that brought stability back to the Premier League club.

No doubt in my mind

Aaronson, a central figure in Farke’s energetic midfield, made no attempt to hide how straightforward the decision was.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the United States international said: “It's a dream come true being at this club and being a part of this project. It's so ambitious. It's a beautiful club and I love being here. There was no doubt in my mind. I think it was easy for me to make this decision, and I am so excited about what the future has in store."

Those words match his trajectory on the pitch. After returning from his loan spell at Union Berlin in 2023-24, Aaronson delivered a consistent 2025-26 campaign that helped Leeds secure their Premier League footing under Farke.

Numbers that back up the faith

Since first pulling on the white shirt, Aaronson has racked up 129 appearances for Leeds, scoring 14 goals and supplying 10 assists, with all of those contributions coming for the Yorkshire club outside of his time in Germany.

Last season alone he featured 42 times in all competitions, producing four goals and five assists. Only Anton Stach fashioned more chances than Aaronson’s 37 in Farke’s squad, underlining his importance as a creative fulcrum rather than just a willing runner.

The new deal also fits neatly into a broader, assertive summer strategy. Leeds have already moved to strengthen with Harry Wilson, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic, and James Trafford, while tying down Rodon, Bogle, and now Aaronson gives the squad a settled core heading into the new campaign.

Old ground, new intent

Attention now swings quickly to the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season. Leeds open with a trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday, a venue that has offered them nothing but frustration in recent top-flight history.

Fourteen Premier League visits without a win tells its own story. The City Ground has been unforgiving.

Yet Leeds carry a different kind of record into the weekend: they have lost just two of their last 18 top-flight season openers. They know how to start a campaign.

With Aaronson’s future resolved and key pieces locked in, Leeds head to Nottingham with clarity, continuity, and a core that has chosen to stay. Now comes the real test: can this group turn long-term commitment into long-overdue results on the road?
