Endrick Poised for Premier League Loan to Revive Career
Endrick, the young Brazilian forward at Real Madrid, looks likely to head out on loan again this season. After a challenging start with limited playing time since his arrival in summer 2024, the 20-year-old is reportedly attracting interest from several clubs, with Aston Villa currently the front-runner to secure his services.
Endrick’s difficulties at Madrid became apparent under managers Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso, leading to a mid-season loan to Lyon during the 2025–26 campaign. His stint in France was productive, registering eight goals and eight assists across 21 appearances, performances that earned him a spot in Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Despite returning to preseason at Real Madrid hoping to impress new coach José Mourinho, the arrival of competitors Carlos Espí and Yan Diomande has further reduced his chances of regular playtime. Mourinho has expressed a desire for a compact squad of about 20 players plus those injured, hinting at imminent departures including Endrick before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Loan Interest from Across Europe
Interest in Endrick isn’t confined to England. Reports from AS confirm that Serie A club AS Roma alongside Aston Villa have shown intent to take him on loan after his solid spell in France. Real Madrid still see Endrick as an important asset, unwilling to let his value drop, and are reportedly willing to cover part of his salary, which exceeds €5 million annually.
Meanwhile, SPORT labels Aston Villa as the most likely destination. In Spain, clubs like Real Sociedad, Villarreal, and Real Betis have also made inquiries for a loan deal. The player himself appears eager to compete in European tournaments, adding weight to the possibility of a move outside La Liga.
What Endrick Brings to Aston Villa
Just 20 years old, Endrick has already experienced life under three different Real Madrid coaches, shifting from a highly touted prospect to a player fighting for recognition. Madrid's quick shift towards younger talents like Yan Diomande, who is even younger, has made Endrick’s path tougher.
Once compared to stars like Vinícius Júnior, Karim Benzema, and even Pelé, his market value of nearly €60 million has not yet translated into consistent impact. Nevertheless, his loan to Lyon revealed a forward with explosive speed, a low center of gravity, and a strong finishing touch. He can operate both centrally and on the right wing.
“Endrick is so young, only 19,” said former French star Emmanuel Petit. “He’s very talented, very gifted, but he’s like a wild horse with a lot of energy. Sometimes he can be a bit too selfish on the field. But he knows he has huge qualities. He needs the right environment to develop because this kid is a diamond. I’d love to see him at Arsenal given his qualities.”
The Premier League could offer the right setting for Endrick to refine his game and regain momentum. Aston Villa, fresh off their Europa League triumph, might provide the competitive platform he needs to rebuild his reputation.
