Alonso repeatedly stressed Enzo’s conduct behind the scenes.
“Enzo is a good professional. He is training well and I have nothing to say about that,” he underlined, keen to shut down any suggestion of a dressing-room problem.

Alonso did leave the door ajar for an immediate return. Chelsea host Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and the coach hinted that Enzo could be back in the squad.
“They are simply decisions we have to make with the match we were playing tonight in mind. We’ll see on Sunday,” he said.
That “we’ll see” now carries extra weight. If Enzo walks out at Stamford Bridge in blue at the weekend, this may be framed as a simple rotation call in a congested schedule. If he is missing again, the questions will sharpen, and Manchester City’s interest will feel even more pressing.
