PSG step on the gas
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, PSG have intensified talks with Ferran Torres’ camp. The dialogue is active, the interest is concrete, but the deal is not done. Negotiations are still in the early stages, no agreement with Barcelona, no green light from the player yet.
The timing is no coincidence.
Barcelona are in the middle of reshaping their frontline. With fresh faces arriving and more targets on the list, the former Manchester City forward finds his future at Spotify Camp Nou increasingly fragile. What was once a long-term project now feels like a short-term puzzle, and Ferran is one of the pieces that might be moved to make the picture fit.
Luis Enrique’s plan for Ferran
At PSG, there is one key advocate: Luis Enrique.
The coach knows Ferran Torres as well as anyone in club football, having worked closely with him for Spain. He has seen him in tournament pressure, in tight qualifiers, in games where a single run or clever movement can tilt the balance.

Romano’s update makes one thing clear: PSG are not promising him star status. They see him as a high-level rotation option for Ligue 1 and the Champions League, a player who can raise the overall standard of the squad rather than dominate the team sheet every week.
Talks with PSG are ongoing. At the same time, Ferran’s representatives are keeping lines open with other interested clubs. The market is listening, and he has not yet made a final call.
Barcelona’s calculation
On Barcelona’s side, the stance has shifted.

There is a cold logic to it. A substantial transfer fee for a 26-year-old international, still in his prime, would give Barcelona crucial room to manoeuvre under financial constraints and help fund other priority signings. Sporting needs and economic reality are meeting in the same decision.
So the picture is clear, even if the ending is not. PSG are circling, Ferran is listening, and Barcelona are ready to deal at the right price.
