Speaking on Sky Sports, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville said the substitution was well deserved. "I’m not surprised he’s coming off and not just because of the yellow card," Neville said. "He really was struggling on this side. Matty Cash was really aggressive against him."

The breakthrough came around the 60-minute mark when Riccardo Calafiori made a clever run and supplied the ball to Bukayo Saka. Saka found space amid a scramble and fired the winner, securing three crucial points for Arsenal.

"It’s a brilliant goal, it really is," Neville praised. "Arsenal are so patient, so trusting of their defence that they don’t need to rush. Calafiori does exceptionally well. He opens up his body and makes that little dart in behind, then puts it on a plate. Saka is in the dream position, it’s where you want your opposite winger. It’s a brilliant celebration in front of those Arsenal fans."
