Hansi Flick on Why Rodri Remains on Barcelona's Bench Amid Pedri Tactical Challenge

Hansi Flick, Barcelona's head coach, has explained why new signing Rodri has not yet secured a starting spot in La Liga matches. The German manager pointed to the midfielder's need to improve his physical condition after only ten days with the team, alongside the ongoing tactical adjustments involving Pedri.

The coach also highlighted broader issues, especially defensive weaknesses during fast counter-attacks and set pieces. “We need to control the ball more,” Flick added. “The opponent played very well, with fast players and effective set pieces. We must do better in these situations.”
