Top Successful Run Chases in T20I Cricket: Complete Record List
The West Indies have just set a new benchmark in T20 International cricket by chasing down a colossal target of 250 runs against India at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. They sealed the victory with six wickets remaining and nine balls to spare, turning the five-match series into a thrilling contest.
India had posted a strong total of 249/5, their highest T20I score against the Caribbean team, powered by Sanju Samson's quick-fire 82. Despite the daunting target, West Indies refused to back down.
Captain Shai Hope led the charge with a blazing century off just 45 deliveries, smashing nine sixes on his way to 102 runs. At the other end, Sherfane Rutherford remained unbeaten with 84 runs from 37 balls, hitting seven fours and seven sixes. Their combined efforts overwhelmed India's bowling attack.
Conditions worsened for India as heavy dew settled in, making it tough for spinners to grip the ball. Axar Patel conceded 63 runs in 3.3 overs without taking a wicket, while Kuldeep Yadav gave away 53 runs in four overs for one wicket. Romario Shepherd’s quickfire 34 off 13 deliveries helped West Indies reach 252/4 in 18.3 overs, marking this chase as the second-highest successful run chase in T20I history among Full Member nations.
