Holywell Earns First Point as Caernarfon Climbs with Clarke's Brace
Holywell Town finally have something to show for their efforts. It took a comeback, a late strike and a fair bit of nerve, but their first point of the season arrived at home against fellow promoted side Trefelin.
The visitors, still hunting their own first top-flight win, struck first and in style. On the hour, Louis Phillips spotted his moment on the edge of the area and lifted a superb lob over the keeper, a finish as audacious as it was accurate. Holywell, bottom of the table and staring at another damaging defeat, suddenly had a mountain to climb.
They refused to fold. The pressure built, the tackles sharpened, and with eight minutes left, the resistance broke. Harvey Morris pounced to drag Holywell level and salvage a point that felt bigger than the league table will show. They remain rooted to the bottom, but at least the season finally has a foothold.
Peers and Calland keep Airbus flying
At Old Road, Airbus continued to find their range. George Peers, in the form of his life, made it three goals in three games as he broke the deadlock on 20 minutes, finishing from close range after a precise cross from Jordan Evans.
The Wingmakers came out after the break with purpose and struck again almost immediately. A swift counter ripped through the hosts and ended with Oliver Calland sweeping home his first goal for the club, a cool finish that doubled the lead and underlined Airbus’ growing confidence.
Clarke punishes Flint as Caernarfon climb
Caernarfon Town’s rise gathered pace with a 3-0 win that deepened Flint Town United’s troubles. The story belonged to one man in particular. Former Flint striker Zack Clarke returned to torment his old club and push his season tally to nine.
He struck first in first-half stoppage time, a blow that changed the mood of the contest just before the interval. Seven minutes into the second half, he did it again, adding his second of the night to put Caernarfon in complete control.
The finishing touch came from another in-form forward. Osian Evans, enjoying his own hot streak, added Caernarfon’s third to wrap up a commanding victory. Flint, still without a win, sit 15th and look increasingly in need of answers.
Cambrian’s comeback and Cardiff Met’s costly miss
At Cyncoed, Cardiff Met looked to be cruising. On the stroke of half-time, Spencer Dymond-Hall rose to meet a cross and powered in a header to give the hosts the lead. When Sam Jones doubled the advantage early in the second half, the game seemed to be slipping away from Cambrian United.
The response was sharp. Seven minutes after Jones’ strike, Alex John pulled one back, a goal that shifted the entire mood of the contest. Cambrian sensed vulnerability and went after it.
The equaliser arrived through Harrison Bright, who drilled in from the edge of the area to complete the fightback and stun the home side. Cardiff Met still had a golden chance to snatch all three points, but CJ Craven missed from the penalty spot, leaving the game locked and Cambrian’s comeback intact.
On a night of recoveries and reversals, it was the teams who refused to accept the script who walked away with something to build on.
