Inter Champions League Squad: Stones, Jones, and Spence Included
Inter have nailed down their squad for the 2026-27 Champions League league phase, and all four summer signings are on board. John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic and Djed Spence have all been registered across List A and List B for UEFA, confirming Simone Inzaghi’s hand for Europe.
The paperwork closed on Wednesday, September 2, the day after the transfer window shut across most of Europe. Inter’s announcement lays out exactly who can feature in the league phase – and where they fit within UEFA’s tight regulations.
List A trimmed to 23
UEFA rules are clear: up to 25 players on List A, at least two goalkeepers, and a minimum of eight locally trained players. Inter fall one short on that final count, with only seven players meeting the homegrown criteria. That detail matters. It cuts their List A limit from 25 down to 23 – and they’ve filled all 23 spots.
Those seven locally trained names form the backbone of the list: goalkeepers Ivan Provedel and Raffaele Di Gennaro, defenders Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco and Mattia Marello, plus midfielders Nicolo Barella and Piotr Zielinski.
Around them, Inter have built a squad that looks built for a deep run.
Between the posts, Josep Martinez joins Provedel and Di Gennaro as the goalkeeping options. At the back, Stones headlines a defensive unit that also includes Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck and Spence.
Midfield is crowded and competitive. Zielinski and Barella are joined by Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Curtis Jones and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, giving Inzaghi a blend of control, legs and experience.
Up front, the responsibility is clear. Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny are the three forwards named on List A, tasked with turning that structure behind them into goals on Europe’s biggest stage.
Youth route for Stankovic and Esposito
Stankovic does not sit with the senior group on paper, but he is very much part of the European plan. Along with Pio Esposito, he has been placed on List B, the category reserved for younger players.
Both were born after the January 1, 2005 cut-off and have spent the required uninterrupted period at the club, so they qualify for that separate registration. Inter have not disclosed the rest of the youth-eligible names on List B, keeping the focus on the headline decisions.
The framework is set, the lists are in. Inter now have to prove that this carefully balanced 23, backed by hungry youngsters on List B, can turn administrative precision into Champions League authority.
