Jim Goodwin Returns to Dundee United Dugout After Medical Absence

Jim Goodwin will return to the Dundee United dugout this weekend after a three-week medical absence that briefly halted his season on the sidelines.

The 44-year-old was admitted to hospital at the end of August with an undisclosed condition, before being discharged and returning home on 1 September. He has since been recovering away from day-to-day duties at Tannadice.

Goodwin is now set to resume full responsibilities, starting with pre-match media duties on Friday ahead of United’s Scottish Premiership meeting with St Mirren on Saturday. His return puts the manager back at the heart of preparations for a key fixture in the early stages of the campaign.

During his spell out, Goodwin watched from the stands as Dundee United drew with Falkirk earlier this month, with assistant Lee Sharp taking charge on the touchline. Sharp has overseen three Premiership matches in that period, recording one win, one draw and one defeat while holding the fort.

Now the team, and the season, move forward again with Goodwin back on the front line.
