LaLiga 2026-27 Schedule Released: Season Kicks Off 15 August, Clásico Set for 25 October

The federation has revealed the full schedule for the 2026-27 LaLiga season, featuring 380 matches in the Primera División running from 15 August to 30 May.

Barcelona will kick off their title defense facing Athletic Club, while Real Madrid, managed by Mourinho, take on Real Sociedad. Those two games, along with Atlético Madrid against Málaga and Valencia versus Betis, are set midweek on 25, 26, or 27 August due to their players’ involvement in the World Cup semi-finals or final.

Opening Fixtures and Special Arrangements

  • Racing, Deportivo, and Málaga — recently promoted teams — start against Villarreal, Elche, and Atlético respectively.
  • Villarreal, Málaga, and Real Sociedad will begin with away games as requested because of stadium renovations, local events, or security reasons.

Key Dates and Derby Matches

  • The Madrid derby arrives early this season, with Atlético hosting Real Madrid on 20 September. The return fixture is scheduled for 4 April.
  • The first Clásico happens on 25 October at Camp Nou, while the second is on 9 May at the Bernabéu.

The calendar was carefully designed by the federation, LaLiga, and Liga F, taking into account over 400 conditions to prevent clashes between Spanish competitions.

Valencia will say goodbye to their Mestalla stadium this season, with their final home game set against Elche.

Breaks and Pauses During the Season

  • No football during Christmas; the break runs from 22 December to 2 January.
  • The league pauses for international breaks on 21 September to 6 October, 9 to 17 November, and 22 to 30 March.
  • Only two midweek rounds are planned, on matchdays 6 and 33.
