Liverpool Eyeing Bradley Barcola as PSG Lowers Price Expectations
Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has been handed fresh encouragement, with Paris Saint-Germain now prepared to entertain offers below their original sky-high valuation, according to reports in France.
The Premier League side have already moved aggressively in the market, reshaping the squad for life after Mohamed Salah. Victor Munoz has arrived from Osasuna to sharpen the attack, while centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo have come in from Rennes and Barcelona to reinforce the spine. The rebuild is not just cosmetic. Liverpool want more goals, more threat, and crucially, more options out wide.
That search has led them back, again and again, to Barcola.
PSG soften stance on Barcola price
Liverpool initially explored a move for Yan Diomande at RB Leipzig, only to watch the winger lean towards PSG or Real Madrid. Once that door closed, attention swung decisively to Barcola, whose status at the Parc des Princes has shifted under Luis Enrique as new signings crowd the forward line.
For weeks, negotiations have rumbled on between Liverpool and PSG, with the French champions said to be holding out for around £130m (€152m). French outlet Jeunes Footeux now claims that stance has eased slightly.
The report says PSG had long set a minimum of €150m for Barcola, a figure designed to underline how highly the club rate the France international. But recent arrivals in Paris have altered the landscape. PSG are now described as willing to listen to offers in the €130m–€140m bracket – still an enormous fee, but a “relative discount” and a clear signal of the value placed on Barcola by the hierarchy.
It is framed as a “small gesture”, one that could tempt Liverpool to crank up their efforts. PSG, though, are said to feel no pressure to sell and are not prepared to go any lower. Any move will be on their terms.
Romano: Liverpool ‘confident’ and ready to accelerate
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has echoed that sense of movement. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he highlighted the absence of both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from the PSG squad, not even making the bench, as a key indicator of what is coming next.
According to Romano, the expectation inside the club is that both players will leave. PSG’s forward line is already stacked: Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ferran Torres, Mika Goots and Maghnes Akliouche give Luis Enrique six front-line options. In that context, Barcola and Mbaye look increasingly expendable.
Romano reports that Liverpool are actively negotiating with PSG and are “confident” over Barcola. The club are “pushing” to get the transfer completed and, crucially, are understood to have a verbal agreement on personal terms with the winger.
He expects the deal to “accelerate”, with the start of the week seen as the entry point into “crucial stages” of the talks. Liverpool want to move quickly. The framework is there; now they need PSG to sign off on a price.
PSG have made their position clear: they will listen, but they will not bargain endlessly. Liverpool, staring at the first full season of the post-Salah era, must decide how far they are willing to go for the winger they believe can help redefine their attack.
