Liverpool's Pursuit of Bradley Barcola Intensifies as Transfer Deadline Approaches
Liverpool’s chase for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola is heading for a tense finale as the transfer window ticks into its final days.
The 23-year-old France international has emerged as Liverpool’s top attacking target, with the club determined to add a wide forward before the summer deadline. Barcola, who came through at Lyon before joining PSG, is seen as the ideal profile to refresh the Reds’ options in the final third.
The problem is the price.
PSG have set an eye-watering valuation, with the Ligue 1 champions demanding around €170m for the winger if Liverpool want to prise him away from the Parc des Princes. That figure leaves a sizeable gap between the two clubs, even in a market where fees for elite forwards continue to surge.
Liverpool have already tested PSG’s resolve. An opening bid of €115m has been rejected, with the French giants holding firm and refusing to soften their stance so far.
The stalemate has not dented Barcola’s belief. According to L’Équipe, the forward remains confident that he will complete a move to Anfield before the window closes, convinced that an agreement can still be thrashed out despite the current impasse.
Liverpool are expected to come back with an improved offer, one that edges closer to PSG’s demands and forces a decision in Paris.
With the clock running down and both clubs entrenched, the next bid could decide whether Barcola becomes the headline arrival of Liverpool’s summer – or the one that got away.
