Locatelli to Undergo Knee Tests After Juve–Milan Draw

Manuel Locatelli will undergo medical tests on a knee problem after feeling discomfort during Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Milan at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.

The Juventus captain reported pain in his knee late in the Serie A clash, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and other Italian outlets. He did not ask to come off and stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, but the issue was serious enough to be flagged immediately after the game.

On Monday, Locatelli is expected at JMedical, where he will undergo instrumental tests to determine the extent of the problem and whether any time on the sidelines will be required.

The timing could hardly be worse for Juventus. Their midfield is already stretched, with Khephren Thuram recovering from knee surgery and not expected back until early 2027. Losing Locatelli for any significant period would strip the side of both their captain and their main reference point in the middle of the pitch.

If the tests bring bad news, Luciano Spalletti will have to lean heavily on Weston McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners and summer signing Pape Matar Sarr to carry the load in central midfield.

For now, Juventus wait on the scans. Their season’s balance in the middle of the park may depend on them.
