Mahrez Transfer Speculation Intensifies After Al-Hilal Defeat

Mahrez’s situation remains delicate. He left Al-Ahli at the end of last season after the club unilaterally terminated his contract a year before it was due to expire, cutting short his stay in Jeddah.

The 35-year-old had arrived at Al-Ahli in the summer of 2023 from Manchester City, bringing Champions League pedigree and title-winning experience to the Saudi league. Over three seasons in Saudi Arabia, he helped Al-Ahli to two AFC Champions League Elite crowns and a Saudi Super Cup, leaving a clear mark on the club’s modern history.

Now he stands at another crossroads, with three Saudi heavyweights circling and the clock ticking on the window.

Al-Shabab need a statement after falling to Al-Hilal. Al-Ahli know exactly what they would be getting back. Al-Ittihad want to add another star to a squad built for trophies.
