Kylian Mbappé's Penalty Miss Seals Real Betis Win Over Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappé put the ball down on the spot in stoppage time, shoulders loose, eyes fixed. This was the moment Real Madrid usually bends a game back to its will.

Álvaro Vallés guessed right, sprang low to his right and pushed away Mbappé’s penalty, sealing a 1-0 win for Real Betis at the Estadio La Cartuja on Friday night and sending Seville into uproar.
The save did more than win three points. It snapped the early aura of invincibility around José Mourinho’s second spell at Madrid and lit the fuse under a weekend of refereeing debate in Spain.
Drama at both ends
