Milan Targeting Zakaria El Ouahdi for Right Flank Reshape

Milan have zeroed in on Morocco international Zakaria El Ouahdi as a leading option to reshape their right flank this summer, with the Genk defender emerging near the top of their shortlist.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Serie A club are actively working on a move for the 23-year-old as they prepare for the departure of Atekami, who is close to sealing a switch to Olympique Lyon. One full-back out, another lined up to come in.

Born in 2001, El Ouahdi has already attracted serious interest across Europe. PSV Eindhoven tracked him earlier in the window, with multiple reports highlighting coach Peter Bosz’s push to bring him to the Eredivisie. Genk, though, have not blinked.

The Belgian side value the Morocco international at between 13 and 15 million euros and are standing firm. There is no sign yet that they are ready to soften that stance or let him leave on the cheap.

Milan have not lodged an official bid, but the intent is clear: El Ouahdi is a concrete target, not a passing rumour. Should the deal move forward, he would become the second major Genk talent to make a high-profile jump this summer, after Konstantinos Karetsas joined Borussia Dortmund in a transfer worth around 35 million euros.

Genk have already shown they can sell big. Milan now have to decide how much they are willing to pay to make El Ouahdi their next solution at right-back.
