Monaco Secures Four Young Talents with Long-Term Contracts

Monaco have moved quickly to secure four of their most promising youngsters, handing first professional contracts to a quartet that has been turning heads across France and beyond.

The club confirmed on Tuesday that Safouane Benzahra, Nahil El Haddani, Nejd Ajroud and Melvin Gomes Da Veiga have all signed deals running until 30 June 2029, a clear statement of intent about the future of the principality side.

All born in 2008, the group forms the core of a gifted generation that powered Monaco’s under-19s to the semi-finals of the French league last season. Their rise has not gone unnoticed. A series of standout displays had already drawn interest from rival clubs, pushing Monaco to act.

Two of the signings carry particular international intrigue. Benzahra and El Haddani are both Morocco youth internationals, part of a growing wave of North African talent emerging in European academies. Ajroud, a Tunisian-French midfielder, adds further depth and versatility in the middle of the park, while Da Veiga has also impressed with his development.

The leap towards senior football has already begun for one of them. Benzahra has made his competitive debut for Monaco, featuring in a Ligue 1 clash with Paris Saint-Germain and offering an early glimpse of why the club rates him so highly.

French outlet Foot Mercato underlined the significance of the moment, noting that the four youngsters had already joined Filipe Luís’s squad during pre-season, a clear sign they were being prepared for the next step. “We confirmed last week on our pages that the four talents were ready to step up to a higher level after joining Filipe Luís's squad during the pre-season preparation period,” the report stated.

For Ajroud, El Haddani and Da Veiga, the pathway is now clearly drawn. The contracts are signed, the faith is public, and the first team no longer feels distant. Their journey continues, with Monaco betting that this 2008 generation will soon be pushing for permanent places under the lights at Stade Louis-II.
