But so far, so good," Djokovic told reporters in Beijing."I was looking forward to coming to China, as I always have. My record here speaks for itself and gives me confidence. Overall, my body feels good and my play has been solid."

Djokovic’s claim about his record in China isn’t an exaggeration. He holds an incredible 29-0 win-loss record in Beijing and has captured the title six times. Though he hasn’t competed there since 2015, the Serbian player is thrilled to be back.

"At this stage in my career, it’s about playing tournaments I enjoy, where I’ve had success and feel welcomed by fans. My history on Chinese soil has been remarkable. I haven’t played here in 11 years because scheduling conflicts meant I only played Shanghai before. This year, Beijing was a priority, and I’m really glad to be here."
