Ruben Amorim's Last-Minute Changes for Milan vs Lazio

Ruben Amorim has torn up his original plan at the last moment.

Sky Sport Italia report that Yunus Musah, widely tipped to start, will instead begin on the bench for Milan’s Serie A clash with Lazio, with Adrien Rabiot drafted into central midfield and Ruben Loftus-Cheek pushed higher up as an attacking midfielder.

Musah had been expected to line up alongside Luka Modric in a two-man engine room. That partnership will have to wait. Rabiot steps into the heart of midfield, trusted to anchor and knit play, while Loftus-Cheek is handed the keys between the lines, tasked with driving at Lazio’s back line and linking with the lone striker.

The rest of Amorim’s XI stays untouched. Pervis Estupiñán keeps his place at left wing-back, a constant outlet on the flank, and Samuel Chukwueze returns on the opposite side to provide direct running and width.

Italy starlet Alphadjo Cissé joins Loftus-Cheek as the other attacking midfielder, adding creativity and movement around the box, with Gonçalo Ramos leading the line as the Rossoneri’s sole centre-forward.

Christian Pulisic must again settle for a seat among the substitutes, but Amorim has already promised the American his first minutes of the season tonight. With Musah also waiting in reserve, Milan’s bench suddenly looks loaded with game-changers if the script needs rewriting once more.
