Tottenham and Everton Agree on Ndiaye and Richarlison Transfers Amid Premier League Struggles

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have reached agreements in principle for two significant player moves. Iliman Ndiaye is set to join Spurs, while Richarlison will return to Everton. These developments come during a turbulent start to the Premier League season for Tottenham, who remain without a win.

Separate Deals Finalized for Ndiaye and Richarlison

According to reports from The Athletic, Tottenham has agreed to sign Ndiaye, with Richarlison moving back to Merseyside. Although both transfers are happening concurrently, they are separate deals pending medical examinations and personal terms.

Ndiaye’s move to north London follows his decision to reject multiple contract extension offers from Everton last season. This signing partly softens the blow for Spurs after missing out on Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, who chose Manchester City instead.

De Zerbi Addresses Richarlison's Transfer Request Amid Squad Unrest

Recent days have been chaotic for Tottenham. Coach Roberto De Zerbi revealed that Richarlison, along with Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr, formally asked to leave before the transfer deadline. None of the three played in Tottenham’s recent 2-0 home loss to Newcastle United.

"Richarlison, I don’t know. He said too many times he wants to leave," De Zerbi said. "Danso came to me two days ago and he said he wants to leave. Pape Sarr the same, but he suffered a small injury, though he is nearly ready to train."

Despite the departures, De Zerbi emphasized there is no bad blood. "I love these players, and they are great guys. I have very good relationships. But if they want to leave, they have to bring the economic solution to the club, and they can go and we find other players."

Richarlison Returns to Everton After Spurs Stint

Richarlison departs Tottenham after scoring 32 goals in 134 appearances since his £60 million move in 2022. He returns to Everton where he made a strong impression, netting 53 goals in 152 matches and earning fan admiration.

Tottenham’s £350 million summer rebuild appears to be faltering. High-profile signings such as £100m midfielder Sandro Tonali, along with forwards Omar Marmoush and Savinho, have yet to make a notable impact. After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, Spurs find themselves struggling again.

Currently, De Zerbi’s squad sits bottom of the Premier League table following a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle, marked by second-half goals from Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa. This followed a heavy 3-0 loss to Brentford, marking the first time since the 1974-75 season Tottenham lost their first two league games without scoring.

Both clubs face a hectic deadline day to complete medicals and paperwork for Ndiaye and Richarlison by Tuesday’s transfer cutoff. Tottenham must also secure replacements for Danso and Sarr if those players finalize moves away.

On the field, De Zerbi needs a swift turnaround from his team. Getting Ndiaye integrated quickly will be key as Tottenham aims to halt their slide and score their first goals of the campaign.
