Tottenham's Aggressive Transfer Moves After Defeat

Tottenham hit the panic button – and they’re doing it with cash.

Less than 24 hours after a bruising 3-0 defeat at Brentford to open their Premier League campaign, Spurs have moved aggressively in the market, turning to Manchester City for attacking firepower.

They were already closing in on Savinho. Now comes another strike.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday afternoon that Tottenham and City have reached a full agreement for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush in a deal worth €60 million. The former Eintracht Frankfurt attacker is expected in London on Monday to undergo his medical and sign his contract.

It marks a dramatic response from a club stung by that heavy loss and under pressure to show ambition. One City forward was a statement. Two, in quick succession, is a clear reset.

As a reminder, Tottenham are also set to land Savinho from City for around €100 million, a double move that would radically reshape their frontline before the window slams shut.
