Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez Confirm Their Marriage in Private Ceremony

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially married his partner Georgina Rodríguez. The Portuguese football star and the model tied the knot in a civil ceremony held on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal. This special event took place exactly one year after they publicly announced their engagement on Instagram in 2025.

A representative for the Al Nassr forward confirmed that the wedding was a private and intimate affair attended only by their five children. Ronaldo later shared a photo on Instagram showing the couple holding hands with their wedding bands, captioned simply as "C❤️G."

The wedding happened shortly after rumors suggested the couple might wed at Funchal Cathedral, Ronaldo's hometown, which had led to thousands of fans gathering outside the church.

How Ronaldo and Rodríguez First Met

The couple first crossed paths in 2016 when Georgina, an Argentine-Spanish model, was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. In her Netflix documentary Soy Georgina, she described how their meeting was unexpected. She was meant to leave work early but ended up staying late to assist a VIP client—Ronaldo, who was then playing for Real Madrid.

"I was finally able to leave the shop three hours later than I should have, and as I was getting ready to leave, Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends," Georgina recalled. "Let's just say it was butterflies in my stomach."

After this encounter, they became inseparable. Ronaldo frequently picked her up from work in his Bugatti, while she arrived by bus. Georgina remembered how her co-workers would be amazed watching her leave in such a luxury car.

Eventually, Georgina had to quit her job because the store became overwhelmed with people eager to see her.

Family Life Together

Despite her stepping away from work, their relationship grew stronger. Georgina took on a parenting role for Ronaldo’s three children from previous relationships: Cristiano Jr., Eva Maria, and Mateo. Together, Ronaldo and Georgina now share two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.

The Wait for the Wedding Ring

In the documentary, Ronaldo admitted he hadn’t proposed earlier because he hadn’t yet felt the right moment. He described it as waiting for a "click" to happen in their life.

"I always tell her, when we get that click. Like everything with our life, and she knows what I'm talking about," Ronaldo said. "It could be in a year, six months, or even a month. I’m 1000 percent sure it’ll happen."

Georgina also shared that her friends often teased her about when the wedding would take place, jokingly referencing Jennifer Lopez’s song The Ring.

Now, after years together, the couple is officially married.
